About the Book

Parasitology, the study of parasitic diseases and parasites that infect man, has under gone remarkable developments in the last four decades. These developments along with recent widespread application of the newest biomedical technologies, have inbued optimism that new strategies can be developed for controlling the important parasitic diseases that for centuries have been the scourages of mankind. The Book offers a compendium of reviews of the most active areas of several in Medical parasitology. It provides an overview of scientific perspectives. By intent, the chapters are not exhaustic reviews. The chapters were written with the expectation that the readers will have a general understanding of the parasite's life cycle and the diseases the organism can cause, as well as a fun background in the major disciplines of modern biology.
