Preface
My philosophy, "In life, we always remain student" regardless of discipline, medicine or other. I always wish to share whatever I have learnt from my experience with my teachers and from my colleagues involved in the field of pediatric radiology.
Atlas of Pediatric Radiology includes 200 common cases with detailed, highly organized radiological description of the diseases. It covers all imaging modalities including conventional radiology, ultrasound, angiography, computerized tomography, MRI, and nuclear medicine. The book has a series of sections arranged to organ system (Head and Neck, Chest and Respiratory System, Gastrointestinal System, Genitourinary System, Musculoskeletal System, and Miscellaneous).
Atlas of Pediatric Radiology is written for all those who are using imaging in the care of children. The practice of pediatric imaging requires special knowledge and understanding. The diseases that affect children are different from that in adult, "the child in not a miniaturized adult".
This book furnishes the necessary data that radiology residents should have in their approach for board certification. The practicing pediatricians, radiologists, and pediatric surgeons will also find this book useful to enhance their knowledge in pediatric radiology.
The appropriate imaging of children is a cooperative venture that requires the participation of the pediatricians, pediatric surgeons and radiologists. The fruit of this collaboration will be the health and well-being of children.
