Fiction Classics Heidi

This Novel beautifully narrates the Events in the life of an orphan girl living in her grandfather's care in the Alps of Switzerland. Besides presenting a vivid portrayal of the landscape, it provides a better understanding of how Children see life. It also addresses many of the issues children and Adults can 1relate to.

Johanna Spyri, a well-known author of children's books, was born to Mela Schweizer and Johan Jakob Heusser on 12 June, 1827 in Ihe village of Herzil in the Alps of Switzerland. Her first Novel was A Leaf on Vrony's Grave, but she received much acclaim for Heidi. She died on 7 July 1 901.

Payal Mittal (1983- ) holds her Master's degree in English from Kurukshetra University and B.A. Hons from University of Delhi. Also, she has done a diploma in Fashion design. She teaches English to the teenage students. She has lo her Credit an abridged version of The Children of the New Forest.
