Today, when I recall my college days when I along with my batchmates aspired to memorise the entire Materia Medica in the hope of becoming another Dr. Hahnemann, I laugh at the thought as over the years experience has taught me that all who try to learn the entire Materia Medica by rote must ignonimously fail. It is keeping this in mind that I have tried to assimilate the knowledge gained over the years and this book represents the filtered nectar of the various books on Materia Medical that I must have referred during the various cases that I encountered during my clinical practice. It has been my endeavour to use this book as a medium to pass on to the students in simple form all the complexities and nuances which have boggled me throughout.
As a student goes through this book, he will find hidden treasures spread out at different places picked from various books, writings, and articles etc. which are difficult to lay hands on, as many of them are either out of print or too costly.
The book has also been written to serve a student's purpose of reference so that he may just refer to one book and not bother himself with ten others which give more or less the same data albeit in different forms. Though the book is a repertoire of readymade references, but it is by no means perfect. Hence, any suggestions, comments or criticism will only help to serve the Homoeopathic community better.
Homoeopathy begins when all the other apathies fail; hence the students must train themselves to say "Yes" where others say "No" or only "May Be".
