He • retired from the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, after 35 years of distinguished Academic life. He has over 130 Research papers, articles and Books to his credit. He is a member of , several Professional and learned Societies and has served on the Scientific advisory committee of the Central Council for Research in Unani Medicine, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Professor Dhar is a recipient of the fellowship of the National Academy of Sciences. In Recognition of his contributions to science, his name is included in The International Director} of Distinguished Leadership, 1990.
Rupa Dhar, M.A., B.Sc., B. Ed., was Principal and Science coordinator of the Campus School at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, where she specialised in Elementary science education. She has been an active member of the all India Science Teachers' Association, and her interests include Child education, child Psychology and Folklore medicine.
