The Gastrokid Cookbook Feeding a Foodie Family in a Fast-Food World By Hugh Garvey and Matthew Yeomans From the creators of Gastrokid.com The foodie parent's essential guide to raising passionate, adventurous eaters! Gastrokid: noun. A combination of "gastronomy" (the study of food) and "kid." A Gastrokid is a child of heightened gastronomic awareness, sometimes the progeny of parents who describe themselves as "foodies." Coined by Hugh Garvey and Matthew Yeomans, authors of The Gastrokid Cookbook and founders of Gastrokid.com. Forget about hiding vegetables or tricking kids into eating healthy food. Straightforwardly delicious, The Gastrokid Cookbook is a robust collection of?sophisticated, kid-friendly-and nourishing-recipes for vegetables and salads, meat, poultry, fish, pasta and grains, pizza, and?even breakfast. Thanks to Hugh Garvey and Matthew Yeomans, now parents everywhere can learn to raise educated, daring eaters and prove that there really is no such thing as "kids' food"!

Excerpts from Inner Flap (Outer)

What should we have for dinner tonight? For many of us, this is a dreadful question; for others, it's a no-brainer: chicken fingers, French fries, hot dogs. That's what our kids like most, right? Of course, we all want our kids to eat food they like, but we also want them to have healthy meals that don't include the words "Happy" or "Super Size." If this describes you and you'd like your family to eat well without having to cook multiple meals every night, The Gastrokid Cookbook is the perfect solution. So, what is a Gastrokid? A kid who's willing to boldly explore new culinary tastes and experiences. That's the spirit of The Gastrokid Cookbook, where you'll find fast, easy-to-prepare, kid-tested, adult-friendly, organic, sustainable, and downright delicious recipes the authors have prepared for their own kids, including: *Grilled Corn Salad *Cauliflower Puree *The Gastrokid Burger *Tuscan Steak for Toddlers *Fast Fish Cakes *Seared Salmon with Soy Honey-Lime Sauce *Japonaise Chicken Nuggets *Citrus-cured Chicken Breast *50/50 Pasta *5-minute Tomato Sauce *Green Zebra Pizza These recipes can easily be tailored to your family's needs and are designed to liberate you from dependence on recipes. If your kids like their food richer, use more oil. If you like it brighter, add more lemon juice. Don't like parsley? Leave it out. Plus, collaborative recipes are included for you to prepare with your kids. Every kid is born a Gastrokid. This fearless cookbook shows you how to feed your little ones' inborn hunger and curiosity-and, most importantly, how you can get started on discovering your own "inner Gastrokid."
