Review
“The second edition is highly organized and more thorough in its storytelling and depiction of the historical context.” - Andrew Zimmerer, Waubonsee Community College
“I like the Thinking Ahead and Thinking Back questions, the Closer Look sections, the Continuity & Change essays, and the primary sources. I think these are very useful in helping students identify important issues, and think critically about the material they are learning.” - Victoria Grieve, Utah State University
“Sayre has provided the best humanities text on the market. His writing voice comes across as if he is conversing with the students, telling them fascinating stories about the cultures and their arts… Many of my students tell me after they have finished the course that this is one book they keep.” - Jennifer Rosti, Roanoke College
