About the Book

Mahatma Gandhi e mind and work as Mahatma Gandhi considers the spinning-wheel, it represents the philosophy of fulness. Such fulness is encapsulated in education, society, non-violence, religion, humanism and all the finer essence of advancement for man.

Gandhi highlights the spinning-wheel as his mouthpiece that speaks in silence, acts in adoration and sincerity, inspires in devotion and escalates in humanism. He explores the two-fold philosophy of the spinning-wheel: one, its apparent value in workability and usefulness, and the other, its tremendous inherent force to instill in everyone the ever-glorious spirit of the victory of man.

As an unparalleled exponent of education of becoming and being, Gandhi incorporates the spinning-wheel in his educational thoughts and experiments to unfold the newer dimensions of education of having and loving. Consequently, the spinning-wheel blesses the learner to be in perfect tune with balance and restraint, discipline and sincerity, self-esteem and self-dependence.

The Gandhian philosophy of the spinning wheel shows the surest way for the hoi polloi to bring about a desirable social revolution long overdue. To live in simplicity and austerity, thereby living in catholicity of contentment, peace and advancement is always an abiding lesson to be learnt from the spinning wheel alone.

The Gandhian philosophy of the spinning wheel also endears non-violence and Religion together with the most dynamic spirit of humanism. Gandhian awaits harbouring in the innermost core of the heart that spirit in contemplation as well as in action in an utterly bewildered super-computerised world right now.
