Susruta Samhita is a treasure house of Knowledge in Ayurveda especially the branch of Salyatantra i.e. the branch of surgery. The information available is vast and spread out, collecting which is an enormous task.
Though much information is available, not many standard Texts arc available in English in Salyatantra. Thus this Book is a small endeavor to provide all the information available in Ayurvedic texts as well as brief information of the correlated Surgical conditions and operative procedure available in the modern texts.
The availability of both Ayurvedic and modern information about each of the condition will make the understanding of the Disease an easier process for the students. This presentation in simple English, in points and in accordance to the CCIM syllabus, will surely make the book an attractive prospect for the students of BAMS.
Dr. Rajneesh V. Giri was born in Bengalooru, Karnataka in 1973, He completed his primary education in Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools. He did his Graduation and Post Graduation (M.S. Salyatantra) from Government Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Bengalooru. He completed his Ph.D. in Salyatantra from the Illustrious Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University in the year 2004.
Presently he is working as Asst. Professor and Head. Dept. of Salyatantra, Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Bengalooru.
He apart from having a successful Ayurvedic hospital of his own is a visiting kshara sutra consultant to various nursing homes in Bengalooru. He is engaged in manufacturing Guggulu based kshara sutra that has a nation wide demand.
He was been actively involved in various research projects of reputed pharmaceutical companies, involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and is a member of Committee for Scientific Technical Terminology (CSTT), Ministry of Human Resources & Development, New Delhi.
He is also the author of "Synopsis of Susruta Samhita", "Synopsis of Caraka Samhita" and Synopsis of Astanga Hrdayam published by M/s. Chaukhambha Orientalia. Varanasi.
