The Study of Palmar Dermatoglyphics and Cancer

The available studies have also show the possibility of using these dermatoglyphic traits as Diagnosis tool for the disease. So it is accepted that there may be some sort of association of dermatoglyphic features with the Cancer also. Presently an attempt has been made to find out the association of Mouth cancer, Breast cancer and prostate gland cancer with palmar dermatoglyphic traits separately and finally by adding the data of all the above mentioned types of cancer patients and tallying the Results with the data of individual types of cancer patients.

Science CongressMishra is a Faculty Member in the Department of Anthropology and Tribal Studies, Baster University, Jagdalpur. Dr. Mishra is an M. Sc. in Anthropology from Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar and has been awarded Ph.D by the same University for this thesis on the Study of Dermatoglyphic and Cancer. He has also done his M. A. in Sociology & MSW. His work experience includes bio-social, Health & rehabitation studies in various Urban and Rural areas of Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. He has worked in various institutes like Indian Institutes of Forest Management (I. I. F. M.) Bhopal. Faith Health Private Ltd. New Delhi and Guru Ghasidas University, Bilaspur. He has published more than 15 Research papers in National & International Journals, he has presented research papers in more than 30 National & International Conferences. His Field of interest includes Tribal Health and Rural Development.

Dr. Mishra is a counselor of Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi as well as a life member of Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata.

Prof. (Dr.) Ramesh Choube has retired as H. O. D., Department of Anthropology in Dr. Hari Singh Gour University, Sagar. He has served professor 33 years in this University and has been a source of Inspiration for many students of his University.

An eminent Anthropologist in the area of Physical Anthropology, he is widely recognized for his scientific research in the Field of palmar creases He Developed a research Methodology for the classification of palmar creases in the year 1971, which was accepted internationally and till date it has been use all over the world. On the Basis of quality research his name was nominated for the prestigious award of "Man of The Year" (1997) by the America Biographical Institute, Releigh North Corolina, USA.

He is the Author of Nine Books. He has also guided many Ph.D. Scholars. He has co-ordinated major research project of UGC, WHO & UNHCSO. He has published more than 50 research papers which have been published in national and international journals of repute. He is a life member of different Academic bodies.
